Welcome to Australian Basketball Services www.ausbasketball.com.au

We have worked with the Nunawading basketball stadium for 10 years running all of their introductory programs including: school clinics, coach development and the management of their weekly beginner programs.

Recently we undertook a major revamp of the programs there and created a new identity and branding of their beginner skills programs. All of our work there is focused on increasing participation and introducing as many young players as possible to the sport. We currently have over 500 children in weekly beginner programs. We are also starting to undertake some management and consulting work with other associations and stadiums looking to increase participation in their areas.

Below is a listing of the current programs we are managing.

Spook Hoops Beginner Competitions

At Nunawading Stadium

Spook Mini Hoops - Tuesdays for preps to grade 4.

Spook Hoops Pink Ball – Wednesdays girls only beginner competition for preps to grade 6.

Spook Hoops Primary Competition – Thursdays mixed competition for grade 1 to 6 players.

Beginners are also welcome to join our after school Spook Hoops competitions. The competitions are intended as a low cost first step into playing basketball.

While playing club basketball isn’t that expensive our low cost competition is a way to be certain

children will enjoy playing structured games before you need to outlay money for uniforms and registration fees.

We provide a coach who referees the game as well and is on court encouraging and instructing players during the game.

Players need to make a regular commitment to this as we keep the same teams each week for the season.

Where we have enough players from the one school we form a school team. Where we don’t have enough players we will group players together to form their own team. Divisions are grouped by school years with a Grade 5/6 competition, a Grade 3/4 competition and a Grade 1/2 (with some preps) competition.

New competitions start in Term 1 and run until the end of term 2 with a new competition starting in term 3 and running till the end of term 4. At times we can register new players mid season if some teams aren’t full. Otherwise we can add you to a waiting list and you can start next season.
