Head Coach - NBA Star Sedale ThreattSedale played in the NBA for 14 years between 1983 and 1997. The NBA veteran has chosen to live in Melbourne for the next few years and is eager to impart his knowledge on to young promising Australian players. Since his playing days, Sedale has been running elite programs in the US, training and preparing players for NBA tryouts.
If you are unfamiliar with Sedale he played for Philadelphia, Seattle, Houston, Chicago and the Los Angeles Lakers. During this time he played alongside Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler and Gary Payton. His main coaches and influences include NBA coaching greats Doug Collins, Bernie Bickerstaff, Mike Dunleavy, Rudy Tomjanovich and Phil Jackson.
For most of his career Sedale was a starting point guard whose best years were with the Lakers averaging 15 points per game in his best season. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience and will be a unique asset and resource for our developing players.

US Tour 2008General Information
Each year a team will be chosen from the best players around the country who attend our Elite Camps. This team will then tour the US in December playing against US High School teams. Try outs for the December 2008 will be held these holidays in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The age groups of the teams we will be playing will be between 15 and 18 so the team we select will come from this age group. The team will be coached by Sedale Threatt. When touring the team will be known as the “Threatt Australian Allstars”

CostsAll travel costs will need to be met by the players. A full information pack will be provided to those selected to the team and the reserves. Contact us for more information.
Games ScheduledThe first US tour for our Elite Camp team departs on December 3rd and will travel throughout the West Coast of the US returning on the 24th December. This will be a great experience for all the team and they will get to see what basketball is like in the US.
The itinerary is as follows: December 5th & 6th - Marana Classic, Tuscon Arizona December 8th - Chapparal High School, Phoenix Arizona December 11th to 13th - Sundevil Invitational Tournament, Albuquerque, New Mexico December 15th - Stoneridge Prep College, Los Angeles California December 19th & 20th - Cowboy Classic, Las Vegas Nevada
The tour is a good mixture of tournaments and games against High School teams and Prep Colleges. There will also be a good mix of sightseeing and attendance at college basketball games and NBA games. As Head Coach Sedale Threatt used to play with the Lakers we will be able to get into watch Lakers training sessions and meet the players. When we return we will start to plan our 2009 tour and may consider taking 2 teams.
Team SelectionTry outs for these teams will be held in our April camps. Anyone between the ages of 15 and 18 is welcome to try out but must have attended one of our Elite camps in 2008 or January/April 2009.
SupervisionThe team will be supervised by our staff at all times. We will have enough room for 2 parents to travel as well if they wish to assist with supervision. All costs will need to be met by the parents.

Horizons Sporting Tours
Horizons are the travel company we use for our AND1 Elite basketball tours. We work together with them to make sure we can provide the best tour experience and opportunity for our players. For those who do not make our annual selected tour team we are pleased to refer you to Horizons own outstanding basketball tours. We are happy to introduce you to Horizons and advise them of your abilities so they can put you in the best tour that will suit you. Camp ContentThe AND1 Elite camp is normally held over 3 days and is open to both male and female players who are playing representative basketball and are 10 years of age and over. Players who attend must be playing representative level basketball. Players who attend must be playing representative level basketball. Club level players will be admitted after they have proved themselves at our other general AND1 camps. The morning sessions will mainly involve individual skill development with afternoon scrimmage sessions.
Players will learn a lot about body positioning and how to use your body to best advantage. Sedale has a great ability to make players understand why they are doing a drill and when and where they would use that skill in their actual game.
Sedale will spend time with all groups but will spend more time with the oldest age group. Our full time coaches for the younger ages will be our best experienced coaches who play at the highest level in either NBL or SEABL .
NEW AGE GROUP / REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND ELITE CAMPS
Due to increased demand as of January we will be allowing younger Under 12 players to participate in our Elite camps. Players must be 10 or over and playing representative level basketball. We will have a separate program and group for these players.
Also over the past 6 months some of our Elite camps have had some players register who really should have registered for our development camp. From now on all players registering for the Elite camp must be playing representative level basketball or have attained the green level of our Elevate skills program. If your not sure then we recommend you register for the Development camp and if you are ready for the elite camp our coaches will invite you.
Fitness, Speed & Agility Sessions
As part of our camps we will be running a morning session of fitness, speed and agility. An introduction to basic drills players can practice in this area will be run followed by a brief testing of these areas.
Players can then track their progress whenever they attend our camps. If you intend to play at the highest standard improving your fitness, strength, speed and agility is essential. These sessions are just a quick introduction to drills you should be practicing. These sessions are run by Functional Sports Conditioning who are specialists in this area. Player Manual
All players who attend our Elite programs will receive a manual and information booklet which contains additional information on ways they can improve. It also contains several individual training programs you can follow and work on.

Camp VenueMost of our camps, are held at MSAC (Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre), as it is a central venue to all of Melbourne. Other venues may be used at times. We will be visiting all major cities throughout the year.
